Eliminate Heat and Dampness

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that dampness is the root of all illnesses and tends to form alliances. When combined with summer heat, it causes dampness. If you frequently experience the following symptoms, you should eliminate dampness immediately. Morning fatigue and sore, heavy calves are typical signs of dampness. Chronic loose stools, or formed stool that sticks to the toilet and is difficult to flush, indicate dampness in the body. A thick, white tongue coating indicates cold and dampness, while a yellow, greasy tongue coating indicates damp heat.

Nourishing Yin and Moistening the Lungs

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that autumn's dry air is prevalent, which can easily damage body fluids. If we neglect this "dryness" and allow it to harm our bodies, we can develop problems like coughs, sore throats, and colds. Therefore, during this time, we should prioritize nourishing Yin and moistening the lungs.

Dehumidify the Body

First, dry yourself immediately after getting wet or sweating. Avoid wearing damp clothing and excessively high air conditioning to prevent the invasion of external pathogens.

Second, exercise can accelerate the excretion of moisture from the body. Running, walking, swimming, and yoga are all good options.

Note: Exercise should be performed in the morning and evening when it is relatively cool to avoid excessive sweating and fluid loss.

Massaging Health Acupoints to Help Dehumidify

① Jiquan acupoint in the armpit, located at the apex of the armpit, where the axillary artery pulses. It is recommended to massage or tap this acupoint twice daily, for at least 36 strokes each time.

② Chengshan acupoint in the calf, located at the sharp corner of the bulge on the back of the calf when standing on tiptoe. Hold one hand against a wall, stand on one leg, and tap the Chengshan acupoint with the sole of the other leg for 5-10 minutes each time.

③ Weizhong acupoint in the knee pit, located at the center of the knee pit, should be massaged or tapped at least 36 times each time.

Hydrate to prevent autumn dryness

Autumn's dry climate makes skin particularly prone to dryness, itching, and even chapped skin.

The first thing to do during this time is to hydrate. Drink plenty of water daily, or try soups to alleviate autumn dryness.

Carry a moisturizing spray in your handbag and spritz your skin frequently to keep it moisturized.

After bathing, apply moisturizing body lotion to minimize moisture loss.
